HD DVD

High Definition DVD or HD DVD is a format which is designed for the storage and retrieval of high-definition video and is designed to be the successor to the standard DVD technology. With three times as much storage space, a wide variety of resolutions, and the supporting of encoded formats which are more efficient, HD DVD does seem to be leading the way into the new millennium of digital video technology. Though with all of the new technology as of late and our ever fickle tendencies, there is the likelihood that many people will just leave HD DVD alone, if they are already happy with their current DVD technology and especially if they’re not ready to spend another several hundred or even thousands of dollars converting their previous system and buying these discs which may end up costing more when all is said and done.

HD DVD players though, do offer much to be excited about. And their superior resolution and office space capacity, they threaten to reinvent the DVD industry which was just founded in the last few years by stepping up their game and making the hardware, interactive media, and product specifications even more of an issue and by making people all wish they had HD DVD’s themselves.

HD DVD movie reviews have been put out and the results are mixed. Some people think that HD DVD is the only way to go and is the inevitable conclusion to this chapter in the long saga of DVD use in our culture today. But others think that the HD DVD movies are really no big deal and that all the noise is just that. The truth probably lies somewhere in between but that's really just for the individual to decide; the reality that you should be aware of is that the opportunities are out there for your perusal and selection if you like.

HD DVD players also hold on their little secret is. The Xbox 360 HD DVD player is one of these excellent little add-ons that many people don't know about. However if you have an Xbox 360 and has HD DVD technology you can play your HD DVD discs in your Xbox 360.

If you're looking to buy an HD DVD player and you're not sure where you want to go you should check out your local retailers and see what they have to say about it. HD DVD players come in a variety of styles including just the player, or HD DVD burner and that is the whole discussion of HD DVD versus Blu-Ray which is something you need to decide for on your own.
